// Absee media outdoor advertsing/ bus shelter/ Rubiks cube promotion.
The answers you always wanted to know
.

Having recieved the slightly modified Absee cube, find following a set of video's to
help solve all your problems. Practice up because there is a promotion to follow soon.

// Metropolis...the movie produced by 5 and a half

// Random snack media

// BMW shows yet again how innovative they can be

In true BMW style, they always find a way to demonstrate it, rather than just put out
full page ads saying it. Check this kinetic sculpture they have in at their museum, very cool.

// The HBO Voyeur Project

It's been a while since I first saw Sega Beta 7, the cutting edge multi-media ad campaign
that launched not only Sega's new game but an ad industry trying to work out how to replicate
such genius. Well the HBO Voyeur project must come close. Don't know about you but this is
the sort of work I want to be producing.

Worthwhile watching the video below first and then check out the case study.

// Absee media launches our interactive audio street panels

In true propaganda form we continue with the shameless self promotion. Our new audio street panels now
come with an interactive button on the side, consumers can now choose and so can you. Run your clients radio spots
or use the button (second channel) to mix up ambient sounds with a direct call to action. Channel nine news
seemed to think it was interesting.

// Some people will do anything for a game of pool!

The views great on the 3rd floor but getting our new pool table in was always going to be a challenge.

// Chad Snapper our resident photographer gets back from Turkey

Check out our new Absee media photography exhibition, shot on location in Turkey well actually it's all about Turkey. The people, the men relaxing while the women work, the spas and of course Mt Ararat which is supposedly the resting place of Noah's ark (pretty cool).

// Outdoor advertising is the best!!!

bus shelter advertising

// Check out our newly designed street advertising panels which just happen to be on the side of bus shelters, so yes, you could say we're in the bus shelter advertising business or small format outdoor advertising. You'd think I couldn't mention bus shelter advertising any more times, but there I just did. I'm feeling a little Dr Zeuss.

My point is that we've actually designed them to be "flexible" to accommodate various creative executions. We can come up with ideas for you (we love that) or we're happy to implement yours. If not, lets just stick models inside and make them look pretty.

Thanks to Melissa Cameron Photography for helping us out.

// ABsee media gets into the music business

Audio_CD

Our long awaited audio CD is finally here, we've put together a cool house style dance album with tracks sourced from international and local artists. It's all about branded content and letting our clients get a feel for who we are by the things we make rather than just the rhetoric you hear from every company trying to be creative. Of course the CD has a booklet included which is full of info on our street panel advertising but this initiative marks our move into creative production. We made this to show you who we are, if you'd like us to make this for you to show your clients, just give us a buzz - sarah@absee.com.au or maybe you'd just like us to send you a copy.

// Bring back VHS tapes!

Ok, I may be stepping over the line here and I'm not talking about any brand in particualar but wouldn't you agree that VHS tapes were a far superior product than DVD. Sure you can burn files off your laptop in minutes but that's where it ends. Saturday night I'm having the quite night at home, watching a DVD with my lovely wife and yet again the DVD cracks up. Sound familiar? My kids DVD's barely work. I go through DVD players like hot dinners, there is a conspirarcy going on here. Think about it, VHS worked 99 times out of 100. What's the hit rate on a DVD???. Now I do consider myself a technocrat and love what it can do for us, but if it's wrong it's wrong. If you'd like to comment absee@absee.com.au.

//Fast Company Magazine

"Companies say, we want to be the APPLE of our industry. And I say, do you have the guts"

- YVES BEHAR
CEO, fuseproject

It still amazes me what it is that makes us (humans) such natural consumers, is it our tribal hunter/gatherer instinct or is it the more fickle (modern) need to feel good about ourselves by connecting to brands that say something about who we are. Mmm, sounds like a peacock looking for a mate. ?I think we're still in the tribal area. I bought a copy of FAST COMPANY on the weekend only because of this one line quoted on the front page, it read "Companies say, we want to be the APPLE of our industry and I say, do you have the guts". It connected with me in so many ways, I loved it, it just hit the nail on the head perfectly. It also reminded me, in a slap you in the face kind of way, that's just what it takes to build a brand in the 21st century. Do you have the guts?

// Porsche design

The absee team are huge fans of design in any arena, and when we heard that Porsche had come out with a couple of speed boats we had to run them in the blog. I could give you all the specs, but do we care. It's a Porsche, it's fast, and it's beautiful.

// Snowboarding Circa' 93

After way too much FMX action, I'd thought we'd take you back to where it all began. Our resident photographer Chad Snapper had these babies tucked away. Tucked away, I was horrified, let's have ourselves a little retro photography exhibition. Back in the day Chad was quite the lensman and after seeing these shots we've convinced Chad to open up the library. If you like what you see please let us know, cause having Chad on staff is costing us a fortune.

Click here for Chad's exhibition!

PS: OK, I threw in a ski shot as well, man that punt is huge! but that suit isn't.

// The big move

It's official we're moving, you'll see us on the GC from the 5th November. You gotta love a new office complete with
new fitout. The eye candy you see above is part of a feature wall - 7.5m x 1.5. I think I speak for all the patient Absee crew when I say "bring it on"

// Complex

Is there anything that Marc Ecko isn't into? Complex.com and the accompanying magazine gives us another door into the world of Marc Ecko. Complex.com gives us access to all that is street in NY. There are articles on artists, rappers, clothes, and trainers. Of course there's the blogging and some may say unfairly, free contributions on the site but more often than not the sites full of the publishers content, something which is becoming a rarity in the world of reality. I suppose its another example of the reality phenomenon coming through into new media; hold on isn't this where it started? Now I love the whole reality thing, the community vision, the cost effective business model, the raw concepts, the sell out for millions, but we need to bring back some sort of balance or the truly talented will be lost amongst a monolith of the average. Thanks Marc for adjusting the scales a little.

// We had a plan

How many websites do you know that have begun with a good old film style script?
We did, we wrote a script that played out the video elements and designed the rest of the site around that. Of course the blog that you now read was one of the original elements that needed to be included. The reason is that basically you will find all of the info you need to know about ABsee media and a hell of a lot of stuff you probably didn't, but we hope that the content you find following in the next couple of months rocks your world just a little.

Check the images from the shoot day, and a big thanks to the models that put in their time to appear on the site, especially the girls from Q1 and Mark from Mikes Bikes, who was both our rider and Batman.
